Securicom, No. 218 on MSSP Alert’s 2022 Top 250 MSSPs list, is an IT security company founded in 2001 and headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa.

The business also has offices in Johannesburg, South Africa; Windhoek, Namibia; Dallas, Texas (U.S.); and Sydney, Australia.

Securicom’s Business Focus

Securicom specializes in end-to-end range of cloud-based IT security services, offered on a subscription basis — which means there is no capital outlay for clients, says Richard Broeke, managing director. And the MSSP has 50 staff members focused fulltime on managed security.

Securicom provides comprehensive weaponry and proactive defense against the host of threats that afflict businesses today, from perimeter and endpoint protection, to WAN, LAN, cloud and mobile. Furthermore, Securicom’s solutions operate on only the best-of-breed technology, including Symantec Brightmail, Riverbed, Zenprise and Trustwave, and are hosted offsite at the company’s local data centers.

Company Achievements and a Look Ahead

As for company milestones, Broeke points to the establishment of its security operations center (SOC) and a move to focus on managed security monitoring and response to complement its MSSP offerings.

Then, in 2002, Securicom retooled its SOC with next-generation security information and event management (SIEM) capabilities.

“This move provided real time visibility for our team and customers into security events, which allows us to respond quickly and effectively to security events,” Broeke said.

As for key priorities in 2023, Broeke said that Securicom plans to “grow our footprint and help customers of all sizes across the globe to have greater visibility into cyber threats and have access to the appropriate tools to protect their intellectual property effectively.”
