Data security firm Open Raven today announced that it has raised $20 million in a Series B funding round that brings the total amount raised by the company to $40 million.
The new investment round was led by Pelion Venture Partners, with existing investors Kleiner Perkins and Upfront Ventures also participating.
Founded in 2019 by Crowdstrike and Microsoft alums, the Los Angeles-based company emerged from stealth in February 2020 to provide data security tools designed to prevent leaks, breaches, and compliance issues.
Open Raven says its solutions help companies inventory data stores, classify data, and identify sensitive and regulated data to pinpoint security and compliance risks and apply protections. The platform can also identify developer secrets in Git repositories.
The cloud-native data security company plans to use the new funding to expand its engineering, sales, and marketing operations, to accelerate roadmap and support for large enterprises.
